Your Specific Responsibilities:

This is a highly responsible position that will assist the Union and Bradford CHD Operations and Management Consultant with the billing and collection functions of a County Health Department/FQHC.

The operations and responsibilities of this position include billing (Third Party, Medicaid, Medicare and Self Pay) and posting of Medicaid wrap-around payments.

This position is also responsible for collections, write offs, and patient statements, and setting up payment plans with patients. 

This position also is responsible for posting revenue daily, working aged receivable reports on monthly and quarterly basis.  This position is also responsible for working denials and any claim related issues.

This position also is responsible for invoicing and reconciling outside vendors/accounts for services rendered.

This position also will be a backup support for the front desk clerical staff.

This position will also serve as a backup Vital Statics Deputy Register.

This position will be responsible for maintaining insurance fee schedules and entering lab codes in HMS

 

 Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

 

  • Computer proficiency
  • Close attention to detail
  • Proficiency with electronic medical records
  • Strong interpersonal skills
  • Ability to collaborate well with others.
  • Ability to multitask and mange time effectively with little supervision.
  • Outstanding problem-solving and organizational abilities
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Knowledge of CPT and ICD-10 coding
  • Knowledge of medical terminology and basic math

 

Qualifications:

 

Minimum:  

  • Verifiable work experience with CPT and ICD - 10 coding, billing, and accounting in a medical or public health setting.
  • Two years' experience working in Microsoft Excel.
  • Experience working as a member of a team.

Preferred:

  • Three years' experience working in a medical billing department.
  • Medical Billing and Coding Certification
