Responsibilities:

  • Conduct comprehensive eye examinations to diagnose and treat a wide range of ocular conditions, including refractive errors, cataracts, glaucoma, macular degeneration, and other eye diseases.
  • Perform surgical procedures, such as cataract extraction, corneal transplantation, and cornea surgeries, in accordance with the highest medical standards.
  • Develop and implement treatment plans tailored to individual patient needs, considering their medical history, visual goals, and overall health.
  • Educate patients about their eye conditions, treatment options, and preventive measures to promote long-term eye health.
  • Collaborate effectively with our multidisciplinary team of optometrists, nurses, and other medical professionals to provide comprehensive patient care.
  • Stay current with the latest advancements in ophthalmology by attending conferences, participating in research projects, and contributing to the development of best practices.
  • Contribute to the training and mentorship of residents, fellows, and other medical staff.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date medical records using our electronic health records system.
  • Uphold the highest ethical standards in patient care, confidentiality, and professional conduct.

Qualifications:

  • Medical degree (MD or DO) from an accredited institution.
  • Board certification or eligibility in Ophthalmology.
  • Active and unrestricted medical license in Maryland.
  • Fellowship training or specialized expertise in a specific ophthalmology subspecialty is a plus.
  • Excellent clinical skills and a strong commitment to evidence-based medicine.
  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to explain complex medical concepts to patients and their families.
  • Dedication to continuous learning and staying updated with the latest advancements in the field.
  • Ability to work effectively within a collaborative healthcare team.
