Heavy Equipment Operator
Responsible for operating HEAVY EQUIPMENT used for moving or grading earth, applying concrete, asphalt and other materials.
Specific Duties and Responsibilities:
- Operate equipment under general supervision.
- Could operate Graders, roller booms, dozers, scrapers, blades, loaders etc.
- Move levers, depress foot pedals and turn dials to operator power machinery, such as power shovels, stripping shovels, scraper loaders and backhoes
- Inspect equipment for safety issues daily and determine if any parts are malfunctioning.
- Cleans, maintains, and lubricates equipment.
- Understand the use of equipment in various jobs
- Complete job tickets, service quality summaries, and all other necessary paperwork.
- Lift, position and place machinery, equipment or other large objects at construction sites and industrial facilities.
- Work within precise limits and standards of accuracy.
- Take actions to avoid potential hazards and obstructions such as utility lines, other equipment, other workers, and falling objects.
- Start engines, move throttles, switches, and levers, and depress pedals to operate machines.
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications Required for this Position:
Education – no minimum education requirements.
Certification / License: State issued Driver’s License and TWIC
Experience – 3-5 years of operating equipment in an Industrial setting.
