Headquartered in both Kansas City and Topeka, Evergy employs about 4,900 people who are dedicated to empowering a better future. We are currently seeking qualified candidates for a Heavy Equipment Mechanic, Jeffrey Energy Center.
Heavy Equipment Mechanics- "shall be responsible for major repairs on all mobile equipment used by the fuel crew for handling coal, ash, rock and other bulk materials and also equipment use to maintain site roads, grounds, lakes and drainage systems. The Heavy Equipment Mechanic will be qualified to repair, rebuild or replace major equipment components such as engines, engine auxiliaries, transmissions, other drive train components, hydraulic and electric control systems. The mechanic shall be a qualified Heavy Equipment operator and may be used as an operator as needed. The Heavy Equipment Mechanic must be a fully qualified Heavy Equipment Mechanic."
The successful applicant is subject to call outs and will be required to live within 50 minutes driving time of the Jeffrey Energy Center.
All applicants must successfully complete position-related aptitude POSS & MASS testing.
This position requires a high school diploma or equivalent.
