- Operations Technician MPL Patoka, IL Overview: The Operations Technician Trainee position is located at Marathon s Patoka, Illinois facility.
- This position works in and around refined petroleum products and crude oil facilities executing Operations & Logistics, Damage Prevention, and Right of Way Relations activities.
- The successful candidate will perform such duties as: facilitate and monitor pipeline movements, conduct crude oil sampling, process batch tickets, complete routine facility checks, and climb storage tanks.
- All duties will be completed in accordance with all regulations in support of DOT, Environmental, Safety, and Regulatory compliance.
- Travel, callouts, and overtime will be required on an as-needed basis.
- Marathon Pipe Line LLC operates more than 10,000 miles of underground pipeline in 26 states.
- The successful candidate is required to live within 45 minutes of the reporting location (Patoka, IL).
- Responsibilities: The Operations Technician will perform tasks associated with pipeline movements and measurements, routine station checks, station alarm response and resolution, communication of findings to appropriate parties, right of way conflict response (if needed), work order creation and closure in SAP for required preventative and corrective maintenance, coordination of maintenance activities, and completion of all required training.
- All work to be performed in a safe and environmentally conscious manner in accordance with all Environmental, Safety and Regulatory requirements.
- Qualifications: A high school diploma or GED is required.
- An Associate s degree in a technical field preferred but not required.
- Candidates must have a valid driver s license and good driving record.
- Proficiency in basic computer skills is expected.
- Previous pipeline experience is preferred.
- Must be willing to work an 8 shift which may include work on nights, weekends, and holidays.
- Successful candidate will be subject to a Driving Record Background check.
