Job Description
At Coca-Cola Beverages Northeast, we are looking for an experienced sustainability expert to join our team as an Operations Sustainability Manager. This position will be responsible for supporting the development and implementation of sustainability strategies to conserve resources, reduce greenhouse gas emissions, and support regulatory reporting. The ideal candidate will be passionate about environmental issues, highly analytical, and will bring a creative, solutions-oriented approach to addressing the challenges at hand.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
- Identify and manage key sustainability projects and initiatives necessary to help achieve Company sustainability goals with regards to Scope 1 and 2 emission reduction targets.
- Lead analysis necessary for the development and implementation of our sustainability and decarbonization initiatives within our operations.
- Conduct detailed energy assessments and develop energy use reduction proposals.
- Implement measures to enhance overall efficiency and waste reduction.
- Manage the identification and prioritization of energy capital projects, operational changes, and physical upgrades that will result in reduced energy consumption.
- Work closely with third-party consultants for environmental reporting, including emissions modeling and tracking for scope 1,2 and 3 GHG emissions.
- Continuously monitor sustainability trends, leading practices, relevant industry certifications and legal requirements.
- Mange key sustainability performance metrics and communicate those throughout the company, including regular reporting to our parent company and The Coca-Cola Company.
- Partner with internal communications department to contribute to the development of an annual sustainability report other materials that communicate our sustainability efforts to internal and external stakeholders.
- Represent the Company at sustainability conferences, task forces, and other appropriate meetings.
Job Requirements
- Passionate about sustainability and corporate responsibility.
- BS in Technical Disciple (environmental science, engineering, environmental studies, or related field.)
- Minimum 5-years relevant experience in sustainability field.
- In-depth knowledge and experience with sustainability standards and reporting frameworks.
- Knowledge and experience with Scope 1 and 2 emissions accounting and reporting.
- Strong analytical skills including the ability to methodically research, analyze and synthesize information to deliver clear conclusions and develop recommendations based on findings.
- Excellent data management skills including a strong attention to detail and organization.
- Ability to influence and inspire others to adopt sustainable practices.
