- The Operations Manager is responsible for the drivers, including oversight of; employee performance, attendance, policy enforcement and compliance
- Demonstrates and promotes a 100% commitment to providing the best possible experience for staff, drivers and our customers
- Collaborates with the Shop Manager to ensure fleet readiness
- Works in conjunction with the Safety Manager to spearhead a strong safety first culture for all employees
- Works with management to deliver on Key Performance Indicators
- Engages with drivers during morning, midday, and afternoons to assist with routing issues, safety, and any other daily need
- Provide daily work direction, feedback, conduct performance coaching and issue corrective action to drivers as appropriate
- Perform ride-alongs with drivers to assist with on route issues, pickup/dropoff concerns, and overall driver experience
- Weekly/monthly audit of Netradyne cameras, including main 4-way camera functionality and gatekeeper camera functionality. Provide GM with timely reports of any malfunctioning cameras that include the bus and camera numbers
- Update necessary reports, tracking forms and spreadsheets for leadership to review
- Any additional duties required by the Operations team
- Where applicable, familiarity with CBA as the guideline for employee management Monitor and report routing efficiency issues throughout the operation day, escalate potential issues with late/delayed routes, missed PUs/DOs and any related incidents
- Assist drivers with scheduling and work assignments, tablet issues and basic payroll/administration needs
- Daily driver attendance monitoring and updates, up to and including notifications, tracking, and scheduling disciplinary meetings
- Coordinate a daily tablet inventory, including missing tablets, tablets needing repair, charging cords and daily disbursement
- Promptly investigating incidents involving drivers, students, staff and community. Prepare incident reports and attain driver statements
- Verification of daily fleet needs, up to and including buses available for routes, spare bus availability and preventative maintenance needs
- Audit DVIR process daily, including missing DVIRs from previous operational days and current day DVIR audits
- Complete daily/weekly inventory of required tools/items for operations. Include; STAR seats, securements straps, booster seats, safety vests, cleaning supplies, office supplies and other necessary items
- High school diploma or GED, some advanced education preferred
- Minimum 2 years of transportation, operations, or leadership experience Experience in a union environment is highly recommended
- Microsoft office and Google Suite experience preferred
- Ability to lead othersAbility to work in a high pressure, fast moving environment
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, interpersonal skills, decision making, and problem-solving ability
