Operations Research Analyst

This position is being filled under the Direct Hire Authority for Certain Personnel of the Department of Defense using hiring authority in 5 USC 9905.
DISA has delegated authority by the Under Secretary of Defense to directly appoint qualified candidates possessing a finance, accounting, management, or actuarial science degree, or a related degree from an accredited college or university in a field of study, or equivalent experience, related to the functions of the position to be filled.Qualifications: Basic Requirement:
To qualify for this position, you must meet the following basic requirement: Degree: in OPERATIONS RESEARCH; or at least 24 semester hours in a combination of OPERATIONS RESEARCH, mathematics, probability, statistics, mathematical logic, science, or subject-matter courses requiring substantial competence in college-level mathematics or statistics. At least 3 of the 24 semester hours must have been in calculus.

Specialized Experience:
For the GS-09, you must have at least one year of specialized experience equivalent in level of difficulty and responsibility to the GS-07 grade level in the Federal service, or comparable in difficulty and responsibility to GS-07 if outside the Federal service, is required.
Specialized experience at the GS-09 level is defined as experience interpreting data, facts, and procedures using mathematical or statistical methods.
For the GS-11, you must have at least one year of specialized experience equivalent in level of difficulty and responsibility to the GS-09 grade level in the Federal service, or comparable in difficulty and responsibility to GS-09 if outside the Federal service, is required.
Specialized experience at the GS-11 level is defined as experience interpreting data, facts, and procedures using mathematical or statistical methods; and applying mathematical or statistical methods or models to plan, coordinate, and execute studies.
For the GS-12, you must have at least one year of specialized experience equivalent in level of difficulty and responsibility to the GS-11 grade level in the Federal service, or comparable in difficulty and responsibility to GS-11 if outside the Federal service, is required.
Specialized experience at the GS-12 level is defined as experience interpreting data, facts, and procedures using mathematical or statistical methods; applying mathematical or statistical methods or models to plan, coordinate, and execute studies; and utilizing OPERATIONS RESEARCH analysis theories, techniques, methodologies to develop cost estimates.
In addition to meeting the specialized experience requirements, qualified applicants must also possess the quality of experience as it relates to how closely or to what extent an applicant's background, recency of experience, education, and training are relevant to the duties and responsibilities of the announced position. Candidates must clearly demonstrate the possession of knowledge, skills and abilities, or competencies necessary to successfully perform the work of the position at the appropriate level to be qualified for the position. Applicants must describe how their experience meets the competencies within the body of the resume. No separate statements addressing KSA's or competencies are required.

SUBSTITUTION OF EDUCATION FOR EXPERIENCE AT GS-11 LEVEL: Three full years of progressively higher level graduate education or Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree.
There is no substitution of education for specialized experience at the GS-12 grade level
To be creditable, education must have been obtained in an accredited college or university. You must report only attendance and/or degrees from schools accredited by accrediting institutions that are recognized by the U.S. Department of Education
