Operations Production Manager

VES needs a strong leader to fill our vacant position as an Operations / Production Manager. In this role, you would be ensuring that we are producing the exceptional quality of product that we are known for. We’re looking for someone who will take pride in our product and their important role in providing them to customers. We expect you to have deep know-how in production procedures. Ability to direct personnel towards maximum performance that will set you apart as a leader. You will also lead our production team to meet goals in a safe and efficient manner. We’re looking for someone who will consider themselves a manager, but also someone who takes time to develop work relationships with employees to show them they and the company care. Responsibilities

• Ensure all operations are carried on in an appropriate, cost-effective way
• Improve operational management systems, processes and best practices
• Purchase materials, plan inventory and oversee warehouse efficiency
• Help the organization’s processes remain legally compliant
• Formulate strategic and operational objectives
• Examine financial data and use them to improve profitability
• Manage budgets and forecasts
• Perform quality controls and monitor production KPIs
• Recruit, train and supervise staff
• Find ways to increase quality of customer service
• Liaise with other managers to formulate objectives and understand requirements
• Report to upper management
• You will work alongside general production workers (welders, fabricators, assemblers, painters, shipping / receiving etc.) keeping them on task and meeting delivery schedules.

Requirements and skills

• Proven work experience as Operations Manager or similar role
• Knowledge of organizational effectiveness and operations management
• Experience budgeting and forecasting
• Familiarity with business and financial principles
• Excellent communication skills
• Leadership ability
• Outstanding organizational skills
• Degree in Business, Operations Management or related field
• Understanding of quality standards and health & safety regulations
• Experience in reporting on key production metrics
• Proficient in MS Office and ERP software
• Attention to detail
• Strong decision-making skills and a results-driven approach
• BSc/Ba in business administration or relevant field is preferred

Personnel Management:

• Assist Human Resources with recruitment and training of new employees
• Complete performance appraisals as needed
• Coach employees
• Communicate any relevant company information and updates to procedures to personnel
• Enforce rules and regulations
• Handle conflict resolution and performance management with support of Human Resources team
• Ensure workplace is safe and clean through task delegation and educating personnel.
• Degree in Business, Operations Management or related field
• Train personnel on new equipment and review all equipment and safety procedures based on necessity and scheduled reviews.
• You will work directly for the Operational Improvement Director

Production Manager Qualifications:

• 5+ years of experience as an Operations / Production Manager
• Bachelor’s degree in Business Management or a related field would be considered a strong asset
• Organization and attention to detail are necessary for this role
• Problem-solving abilities and conflict management

• Must have experience with managing employees
• Experience in equipment manufacturing a plus
