Operations Manager, Protection & Security Consulting

The Operations Manager with the Protection & Security Consulting practice will oversee the operational functions for certain physical security and Security Consulting projects & programs for Polaris Risk. The selected candidate will support the regional C-Suite and relevant Directors on tasks pertaining to various administrative, sales, service delivery, client satisfaction/penetration, and profitability initiatives. General responsibilities will include effective project management for physical security details and certain Security Consulting projects, both domestically and internationally: i.e., ensuring the timely and accurate billing of vendors and clients; serving as a project’s primary point-of-contact; confirming vendor compliance with insurance, licenses, and onboarding forms; and directing subordinate staff on necessary tasks in a timely and professional manner, among other duties.

This is a full-time, hybrid role based in either New York, NY or Hartford, CT, and candidates in the Northeast region within reasonable traveling distance to either location will be considered. Relocation support will not be offered. Pursuant to the timing of certain security staffing or consulting events, occasional evening and weekend responsibilities may be required, and occasional domestic travel is anticipated (estimated at 5-10% each year). The anticipated salary range is between $85,000 to $115,000 depending on location and experience. Essential Functions:

1. Supervise assigned security consultants, Polaris employees, and/or contractors on varying projects & programs.

2. Ensure all services are conducted in a timely and professional manner with special attention to quality and accuracy.

3. Maintain proactive communication with the Executive Team on fixed and variable costs and fiscal/budgetary impact of present and anticipated business activity; reviews records and other data that impacts revenue growth and profitability.

4. Facilitate and manage client service calls; this includes exercising judgment as to when scheduling a service call with the Client and Polaris Executive Team may be necessary. Ensure clients are contacted at least monthly to clarify whether service requirements are being met satisfactorily, and recommend service improvements, as applicable.

5. Function as a Project Manager to supervise effective service delivery and serve as a direct representative of Polaris Risk in support of the Client’s ongoing special projects.

6. Report to the C-Suite and regional Directors in support of staffing various protective details and consulting projects.

7. Assist Polaris Risk with general administrative support when necessary to effectuate your job function.

8. All other function-specific duties, as assigned.

Education, Experience and Competency Requirements:

Additional qualifications may be specified and receive preference, depending upon the nature of the position.

• Must have a bachelor’s degree and at least five (5) to ten (10) years of relevant professional experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Must have a reliable means of communication (i.e., email, cell phone).
• Must have a reliable means of transportation (public or private).
• License to carry a firearm is ideal, but not mandatory.
• Physical Security Professional certification and/or Private Investigator’s licensure, preferred.
• Previous experience in security management, executive protection, and project management.
• Proficiency with general computer skills, including Microsoft Office Suite and database management.
• Ability to solve complex problems, manage multiple workstreams, and fulfill responsibilities with little to no supervision.
• Ability to organize workload for effective implementation.
• Curiosity-driven and results oriented communicator; maintain client relations and rapport building efforts.
• Exemplary writing ability and oral communication skills to interact effectively at all levels and across diverse cultures.
• Serve as an effective, professional team leader with a measured sense of urgency in a deadline-oriented environment.
• Ability to exercise judgment as to when changes are necessary to project operations and external/internal environment.
• Consistent and effective interpersonal communication skills, across all levels of personnel, is essential.
• Excellent project management and time management skills, across multiple workstreams.
