Everett Gospel Mission engages with the community to alleviate poverty and is looking for a Full-Time Operations Manager for the Men’s Shelter. This position is responsible for implementing operational policies and practices and services that are guest-centered, dignified, in a confidential atmosphere that assists guests in recovering from homelessness in a Christ-centered environment. If you are committed to consistently delivering top-notch work and would like to work for an organization that cares about success for their clients, then we want to talk with you!

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Supervise and ensure proper training of front desk personnel.
  • Supervise and ensure proper training of department Leads.
  • Oversee assignment of guest and program member’s chore responsibilities and monitor job performance through leads.
  • Generate appropriate reports as directed by supervisor.
  • Assist management team in guest conflict resolution.
  • Ensure incidents reports are forwarded to appropriate personnel.
  • Assist in providing encouragement and spiritual guidance specifically to non-program volunteers and residents as appropriate.
  • Oversee day center activities that encourage access to EGM programs and homeless recovery services.
  • Coordinate volunteer projects at the men’s shelter.
  • Coordinate with facilities staff to ensure property meets state, local, and organization standards.
  • Coordinate with Kitchen Program Manager in the support of food related services including pantry, kitchen, and drivers.
  • Coordinate tours of building.
  • Promote and coordinate homeless recovery services that can be offered by partner agency.
  • Represent mission to public entities as assigned.
  • Ensures prompt reply to general inquiries about the services of EGM Men’s center.
  • Participate in Program and Operational staff meetings.
  • Coordinate with program staff and support the outcome goals of each program.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • 2+ years in a leadership role with increasing responsibilities.
  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience and training.
  • Working knowledge of community resources.
  • Prior experience with non-profit organizations preferred.
  • Ability to work with a diverse population.
  • Positive and constructive sense of humor with the ability to laugh at himself/herself and the wisdom to use humor to ease the tension or rescue work.
  • Is action oriented, and enjoys a fluid and changing environment.
  • Emotionally mature and resilient, capable of handling high pressure environments.
  • A strong sense of professional ethics and personal stewardship of EGM’s resources.
  • Must operate and source efforts for ministry from maturing relationship with Christ.
  • Self-motivated authentic team player who is flexible, proactive, and able to interact positively with all levels of our organization.
  • An understanding of poverty and the challenges presented when integrating people from varied socio-economic cultures.
  • Excellent verbal and written communications skills (in English)
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Demonstrated ability to manage complex tasks and prioritize competing demands in order to meet deadlines
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
  • A self-starter with a high degree of energy and careful attention to detail. Strong sense of initiative and a process-improvement mindset
  • Highly flexible, creative problem solver, with a strong ability to multi-task
