Postion:
Operations Manager
General Description:
The Operations Manager will be responsible for managing all day to day business operations. This position reports to the Owner. All supervisors and other employees report to the Operations Manager.
The Operations Manager is an independent position that will require the individual to be a self-starter, capable of thinking on their feet to keep the business running in an efficient manner. The right individual needs a strong drive to work and think on their own, build new systems, etc. where necessary, and ensure all operations and goals are met with minimal direction.
This will include:
- Project management and scheduling, regular visits to job sites to maintain updates on project progress and that all key elements of the Scope of Work and elements typical to House Painting are being met to proper quality levels.
- Managing and coordinating Subcontractor projects in regards to all the aforementioned items.
- Managing projects to meet allotted hours and budget.
- Communicating with customers regarding their projects, requests and keeping them updated as to project progress. Communication will be handled via emails, phone calls, and in person visits.
- Coordinating supervisors and employees for scheduled projects.
- Monitoring the weather for exterior work to coordinate crews and project schedule.
- Monitoring and ensuring that all company procedures and paperwork are completed to proper standards.
- Maintaining and organizing all Company Equipment and Vehicles.
- Maintaining company Supply Stock.
- Checking and signing off employee hours and submitting to the payroll system.
- Answering customer contacts and following up as necessary.
- General painting and painting project tasks will also be included among day to day operations.
Job Requirements:
- 15+ Years Experience in the Painting Industry.
- Full knowledge and understanding of every aspect of the Painting Trade.
- Full knowledge of all equipment - sprayers, pressure washers, power tools, hand tools, etc.
- Full knowledge and understanding of Paint Products, uses and related equipment / application methods.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Excellent people skills to interact with customers, answer questions regarding their project, and make them feel comfortable.
- Excellent time management skills to manage your own daily / weekly schedule; to incorporate project visits, daily tasks, paint projects, and ensure projects and employees are all working efficiently.
- Proficient in the use of computers, mobile phones, and tablets. This will include Emails, Word Processing, Spreadsheets, Payroll Systems, Company Project / Customer Lists, Accessing Documents and keeping company documents up to date.
- Drivers License and Clean driving record to operate a company vehicle.
Compensation:
This is an hourly position. Starting pay will be $30 per hour. After 90 days there will be a performance review and pay rate will be evaluated depending upon job performance and relevant experience.
