Form of workThe National Emerging Infectious Diseases Laboratory (NEIDL) is one of the national bio-containment facilities being built at BU. The facility will include animal care facility operating at both ABSL-3 and ABSL-4 levels. The Operations Manager will direct the day to day operations of the animal facilities at the NEIDL facility consistent with federal, state, and institutional regulations and guidelines. Oversee the implementation of policies and procedures to insure the animal husbandry provided to research animal models at Boston University are consistent with LASP policies and institutional guidelines. Provide training and guidance on animal husbandry, animal handling, and other technical procedures related to animal handling and use of animals in research. Actively participate in the training and performance management of animal care staff and the orientation and training of research staff.
