This position provides site management and leadership for the Teklad standard diet facility located in Madison, Wisconsin. Pay rate is $85000 - $100000 / year based on qualifications and experience.

ResponsibilitiesThis job contributes to organizational success by:
- Provide leadership and management supervision of personnel and facility, maintenance, manufacturing, and distribution of Teklad standard animal diets
- Manage all operational costs to stay within annual operating budget
- Ensure through support of Global Procurement that appropriate services, materials, and equipment contracts are in place to meet business needs
- Prioritize and oversee implementation of capital improvement projects including scope, design, budget and contract negotiations
- Create and review operational, financial, sales and customer service reports to report site performance metrics on regular basis
- Manage site's operation and personnel to ensure QMS compliance, OHSA and site specific safety policy compliance and all other company policy compliance
- Lead continuous improvement of products and projects
- Approve operating expenditures within established approval authority
- Oversee production facility to efficiently meet production goals and customer satisfaction
- Communicate regularly with management, customer service and production staff to maintain effecive daily operations
- Communicate with contractors, vendors and city/state regulatory agencies
- Deliver customer presentations and facility presentations
- Conduct Performance Management reviews of employees and Interviewing of job candidates
- Determine staffing plan and oversee hiring, progressive discipline, and termination decisions
- Approve/schedule maintenance activities in an efficient manner and submit recommendations to Teklad Operations Director for maintenance/construction projects
- Implement company policies and practices
- Conduct area employee communication meetings on a consistent frequency
- Oversee safety programs and requirements and submit suggestions
- Maintain emergency call list for facility
- Liaison with Corporate Maintenance, Engineering, and Purchasing to ensure applicable projects are coordinated with facility
- Oversee efficient ordering and receipt of supplies and equipment
- Achieve established Operational Excellence goals
- Maintain internal and external compliance with established programs and local, State and Federal regulatory agencies
Job Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Manufacturing, Process Engineering, or Business is desired
- Minimum 2 years industry related experience
- 3-5 years' experience as supervisor in manufacturing environment.
- Extensive knowledge of scheduling, quality control, manufacturing equipment, process control, and distribution operations
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Demonstrated leadership, supervisory, and team building skills
- Strong capabilities in Microsoft Office including Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook
