Job Summary
As an Amwaste Operations Manager you are responsible for all daily operations at your assigned location. You are the hub for our drivers, customers, safety, and customer service to effectively communicate and provide the highest level of service.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities

- Assists in determining the daily level of driver staffing to provide an ideal mix of responsiveness and productivity.
- Ensure routes and trucks are assigned appropriately to complete routes in the most efficient daily routes.
- Overall responsibility for incoming calls and e-mails from customers and sales department; manages requests for pick-up or container delivery and ensuring our service guarantees are met.
- Accountable for customer issue resolution and that drivers are on-site/location, resolving pick-up and other issues.
- Managing supervisors to ensure all aspects of their job description are met.
- Communicates with maintenance shop personnel to resolve equipment issues.
- Oversees personnel needs of the operation including hiring, training, terminations, coaching, and disciplining employees. Provides input to HR and the District Manager on compensation and promotion decisions.
- Interacts with local city, municipal, and county agencies to ensure customer satisfaction. Helps identify problems municipal customers are facing where Amwaste can help to assist, thereby establishing Amwaste as a corporate partner.
- Parter with the District Manager to lead and manage continuous improvement for healthy financial and premier safety performance.

Experience
- Experience: Must have experience working in a team setting, with the ability to communicate to multiple departments effectively. Must be able to engage in a high speed and intense environment.
- Experience with fast paced decision making and problem resolution skills.
- Able to work independently and without constant supervision.
- Must understand how to meet goals and expectations on a consistent basis.
- Preferred experience in transportation, logistics, waste collection, customer service in a role requiring decision making and critical thinking.
- Computer skills with ability to handle multiple programs and systems.
- Effective in oral and written communication skills
