Operations Developer/Support Analyst

Global Investment Bank 

The individual will report directly to the CFO and Trader while working across the firm to automate operational processes and streamline management reporting. The individual will also have significant responsibility for assisting with daily operations, monthly NAV process, audit and tax work, and reporting among other non-investment functions.

Responsibilities

Assist in automating daily tasks, building customized reporting tools and providing general information technology support;

Work with various business professionals in understanding business requirements, building software, and supporting the back office day-to-day activities;

System implementations, security master maintenance, reconciliation of data across multiple systems;

Assist in daily operations, reconciliations and trade support (booking trades, trade settlements, trade breaks, positions/cash/trade reconciliations, trade confirmations, corporate actions, dividends, commission reporting, and other ad hoc reporting requests);

Assist in monthly NAV package and month end process;

Interact with fund administrator, auditors, prime brokers and other key service providers;

Assist with compliance, regulatory and internal reporting;

Assist in maintaining strong internal controls; and

Assist in maintaining asset servicing, audit, operations and tax calendars.

Characteristics

Required:

Strong cultural fit;

Graduate/undergraduate degree in Computer or Information Science with supplementary coursework in Finance and/or Accounting

Excellent written and oral communication skills;

Strong knowledge of multiple programming languages- SQL, HTML, VB, C#

Excellent Excel and Microsoft office skills;

Thoughtful, analytical and well organized with impeccable attention to detail;

Comfortable working in a quiet firm;

Personality characterized by trustworthiness, maturity, humility, team orientation and self-motivation;

Intellectually curious with a desire to learn and grow within an organization;

Strong academic record; and

Candidates should have at least one year of work experience, preferably within financial services.

Preferred:

Experience working on systems implementations

Experience in working with portfolio management systems and utilities such as Paladyne;

Strong background in market data APIs using Bloomberg;

Experience with analytics and pricing libraries;

Experience with data warehouses;

Experience in interacting with fund administrators and prime brokers;

Working knowledge and understanding of GAAP accounting and financial reporting; and

Familiarity with portfolio return and portfolio statistical calculations.
