This position will establish, manage and lead strategic and Crisis Communications, and executive engagement plans on behalf of the Missiles and Fire Control (MFC) business area and its more than 20,000 employees. As a member of the Employee & Executive Communications team, the Operations Communications lead will operate in an agile methodology and strategize with senior leaders, cross-functional teammates and other communicators to develop and execute integrated communication plans and collateral that support MFC Operations and business priorities.This position requires a candidate who can confidently and effectively manage multiple high-visibility projects while identifying synergies to achieve business results. The Operations Communications lead will also partner with the Functional Communications team and Lockheed Martin counterparts to prioritize and strategize communications support across several business initiatives and programs.
- Develops and leads strategic and executive communications for Operations initiatives and programs
- Develops and leads Crisis Communications for MFC
- Partners with the Operations senior leadership team to identify and create compelling and informative content to keep employees and external audiences informed and engaged
- Plans and supports onsite and virtual Operations engagement events, surveys, roundtable sessions, focus groups and other activities to capture employee and executive sentiment
- Identifies and reports on the Operations team’s outcome-focused metrics to convey the business value of Communications
- Manages creation of graphics and videos with our Visual Communications team
Basic Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college in a related discipline
- Excellent communication skills including writing and editing
- Previous experience providing communications support to a leader or organization
- Demonstrated ability to handle multiple complex communications and tasks with minimal direction
- Must be a US Citizen

Part-time Remote Telework: The employee selected for this position will work part of their work schedule remotely and part of their work schedule at a designated Lockheed Martin facility. The specific weekly schedule will be discussed during the hiring process.Work Schedules:
Lockheed Martin supports a variety of alternate work schedules that provide additional flexibility to our employees. Schedules range from standard 40 hours over a five day work week while others may be condensed. These condensed schedules provide employees with additional time away from the office and are in addition to our Paid Time off benefits.Schedule for this Position:
