The Role
Hum is seeking an Operations Analyst for our Strategic Capital team. Hum's Strategic Capital group screens, underwrites and manages portfolios of credit investments on behalf of third-party asset allocators. The role includes the primary functions and responsibilities listed below and requires the Analyst to interact with various other departments across the firm including accounting, finance, product, and our marketplace and origination teams.
What you'll be doing:
- Work directly with the investment team, underlying customers, and internal teams (such as accounting) to create and maintain operating P&I schedules for underlying loans.
- Create and queue monthly fund flows related to the portfolio.
- Perform cash flow and liquidity reports
- Monitor deal pipeline to ensure liquidity, operational readiness, etc.
- Perform portfolio modeling and assess various risk scenarios.
- Develop and produce periodic and ad hoc reports and presentations for both internal and external target audiences.
- Utilize technology tools including Salesforce and ICM (our proprietary platform) to maintain and track deal pipelines.
- Work with accounting to validate NAV and P&L items
- Liaise with accounting and finance to facilitate daily business operations; such as customer invoicing, and statementing.
- Maintain relationships with banking partners and client operations teams.
- Provide customer support with onboarding and connectivity.
- At least one day per week is expected to be in-person in lower Manhattan.
What You'll Bring:
- At least 2 years of experience in middle office or back office of a credit investing, lending, factoring, bank, or MCA business.
- Strong attention to detail.

- A proven track record of academic and professional success & familiarity and interest in credit investing and private capital markets.
- Ability to create loan P&I (principal and interest) schedules.
Preferred Experience and Skills:
- Bachelor's degree required with a degree in finance, accounting, or economics preferred.
- Credit / Private Capital Markets backgrounds are strongly preferred.
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel; Advanced MS Excel modeling skills (v-lookup, macros, and pivot tables) additive, PowerPoint a plus.
- Nimble and flexible to balance multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Creative problem solver; strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Collaborative and able to effectively communicate within a lean investment team.
- Excels in a rigorous and fast-paced team-oriented work environment.
