Job Description- Realtime monitoring of the system requiring support
- Acting as first point of contact for clients, via email or direct messaging
- Building new monitoring and enhancing existing monitoring for the system as it grows
- Carrying out application releases
- Performing system restarts during hardware maintenance or after hardware crashes
- Investigating errors which are reported by clients and/or monitoring
- Triaging issues reported by clients and/or monitoring and raise to development team as necessary
- Reviewing code changes in advance of an application release
- Ensuring good handover of all things outstanding from one shift to the next
Experience and skills required:
- 1+ years experience providing kdb+ support to clients, ideally within Financial Services
- Minimum 3.5 GPA Bachelor’s Degree in Mathematics, Physics, Computer Science or other scientific/engineering discipline
- Strong communication skills with ability to translate technical concepts in layman’s terms
- Excellent client facing skills
- Capable of working both independently and as part of a team
- Analytical and problem-solving mind-set
- Detail-orientated and results driven with a can-do attitude
- Comfortability working under pressure and meeting deadlines
- Comfortable with shift patterns and weekend work as required
Experience and skills desired*:

- Experience with Geneos monitoring
- Understanding of incident management processes, ideally using ServiceNow
- Experience working with Unix
