What you'll be doing:

The Operations Analyst effectively and efficiently manages orders to inventory, based on customer specification and lab testing results for whey powder products. You will be responsible for the business processes and operational reporting as it relates to inventory management through order management and logistics. This position requires a high degree of communication and collaboration across multiple departments and various stakeholders. This position works with various tools to assist with forecasting open orders against production needs as well as utilizes the capacity model to determine when powder storage space capacity is limited. The Operations Analyst is a key team member within the export logistics team, the transportation team and the various 3PL warehouses that we work with. Please have strong analytical and problem-solving skills, attention to detail and accuracy, excellent communication skills, and the ability to multitask and work cross departmentally.


Reporting

  • Create weekly production reports to assist with production allocation of open orders
  • Develop Monthly production reports for powder to track off spec and feed quality product.
  • Assist with management of Customer specifications and Requirements
  • Maintain and update all customer requirements in the spec database
  • Work directly with lab on special testing requirements and assign product to customer
  • Create Certificate of Analysis (COA’s) & Certificate of Conformance (COC)
  • Manage item code changes for downgrade production
  • Assist the lab trending reports on analytics
  • Work collaboratively with Supply Chain and IT to develop reporting improvements

Inventory Management:

  • Create a pick list for the warehouse team based on the customer specs for pending orders and the lab test results
  • Work with distribution and the warehouse to ensure order fulfillment with the correct lot codes
  • Finalize shipments for international orders by compiling final BOL
  • Awareness of planning and timing for production that impacts whey powder such as Halal versus non-Halal orders.
  • Effectively allocate inventory according to priority and open orders

Logistics

  • Complete and process Bill of Ladings (BOL) for shipping and transfer of loads.
  • Work closely with Whey Logistics Team on upcoming shipments and product allocation
  • Reconcile outside warehouse inventory against shipments and work with accounting on any adjustments on a weekly and monthly basis.
  • Manage, track, and report lot information at 3PL locations on a monthly basis.
  • This may involve pulling reports from outside portals and comparing vs internal inventory reports

Team Collaboration and Coverage

  • Cross train with the Whey Logistics Team and Powder Logistics Team to provide back up and to assist with the identification of continuous improvement opportunities.
  • Collaborate with powder team on current state process to allow for coverage and back up
  • Understanding customer spec
  • Order flow/process
  • Relationship with lab and product flow with GZ and ASC
  • Cross train with Whey Logistics to help support shipments and communication with customers.

What we are seeking:

Associate degree required, Bachelor’s degree preferred

Strong Analytical skills and problem-solving ability

Strong excel skills and knowledge of Power BI a plus

Strong written and oral communication skills

Attention to detail and complete follow through

Ability to work independently as well as a team member

Ability to work effectively under pressure while being consistently pleasant and calm in dealing with customers’ inquiries and complaints

Process Improvement mind set

This role is based in VT with a hybrid schedule.
