Job Description
This is a hybrid position! We are seeking an Operational S&E Specialist to work with us to oversee S&E activities and duties. Can be based in Appleton, WI; Edwardsville, KS; Charlotte, NC or Dunkirk, NY or Homewood, IL or West Chicago, IL. Will be travelling approximately 15%. The Operational S&E Specialist must be committed to a high standard of Environment, Health & Safety practices and be willing and able to comply with all EHS laws and all of INX's EHS policies. As an Operational S&E Specialist, you will be responsible for:
  • Completing, storing and updating (as needed) copies of all required environmental and safety records/reports including, but not limited, to:
    • Facility/Equipment Operating Permits
    • Waste Generation Reports
    • Waste Manifests, including Hazardous and Non-Hazardous
    • Waste profiles and land ban certifications
    • Storm Water Pollution Prevention Plans
    • Emergency Contingency Plans
    • Spill Prevention, Control and Countermeasure Plans
    • SARA 312 and SARA 313 reports
  • Assisting in the identification and analysis of conditions and practices that could cause incidents and evaluating their potential severity by conducting regular plant inspections
  • Assisting in the development of incident prevention methods, procedures and programs that will lead to the formulation of safety rules to be used plant- and company-wide
  • Assisting in the investigation of incidents and ascertaining cases for use in recommending preventive safety measures and developing the safety program
  • Communicating loss control data to the appropriate individuals at the corporate level
  • Assisting in the development, testing and monitoring of emergency action plans at INX facilities
  • Helping with compiling data for internal/external audits where needed

Qualifications
To perform your job as expected, you will be required to:
  • Have a bachelor's degree from 4-year college or university in Safety, Environmental or a Physical Science
  • Have 2 years of job-related experience
  • Demonstrate strong organization, time management skills and attention to detail
  • Have excellent math skills, as well as oral, written, reading and comprehension skills in order to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals
  • Demonstrate proficiency with Microsoft Suite programs (MS Office), SAP and other computer skills
  • Possess strong skills, knowledge, and capability in manufacturing principles, such as continuous improvement and TPM
  • Have the ability to problem solve and multitask
  • Have the ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment

In addition to these qualifications, we will consider it a plus if you have:
  • Prism Knowledge
  • OHSA General Industry Safety Professional Certification
  • Hazardous Material Practitioner Certification
