Operational Risk Manager

The anticipated salary range for this role is between $123,000.00 and $166,000.00. The specific salary offered to an applicant will be based on their individual qualifications, experiences, and an analysis of the current compensation paid in their geography and the market for similar roles at the time of hire. The role may also be eligible for an annual discretionary incentive award. In addition to cash compensation, SMBC offers a competitive portfolio of benefits to its employees.
Role Description
Reporting to the Operational Risk Officer, Director of Operational Risk, the position supports the Second Line of Defense Risk Management Department Americas Division's (RMDAD) Non- Financial Risk (NFR)
Role Objectives

• Manage the event data collection program execution including active monitoring of data collection and providing required support to frontline.
• Responsible for quality management and completeness of loss data information
• Support execution of KRI Program including review, analysis and escalation of threshold breaches

• Manage production of Operational Risk publication support activities for review and update of Risk Appetite and Op Risk Stress Testing capital requirements
• Support projects and initiatives for enhancement of the Operational Risk Management Framework including GRC tool implementation.

Qualifications and Skills

• 5 years of relevant work experience
• In depth knowledge of enterprise Operational Risk Management is highly desired
• Bachelor's degree required.
• Experience with Loss data, KRI, Risk Appetite Operational Risk Framework components is highly desired.
• Strong organizational skills, with proven ability to successfully manage multiple concurrent priorities.
• Effective interpersonal and communication skills to successfully interact across various levels.
