Operational Risk Management Analyst, Avp

Salary Range: $150,000-$180,000
The Operational Risk Management Analyst reports to the Head of Operational Risk and provides second line oversight and effective challenge for operations risks, primarily in the IT area. This position will support the Head of Operational Risk by executing the Operational Risk framework, including but not limited to, risk and control assessments (RCSAs), controls testing, issues and actions management, key risk indicators, Operational Risk incident reporting, scenario analyses, etc. Additionally, the Analyst identifies Operational Risk issues and monitors risk profiles within the risk appetite and contributes to escalation and accurate reporting to risk governance committees and supports the business on the identification and timely reporting of incidents in our GRC tool.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES 

• Collaborate with the first line business experts in Technology and Information Security to assess key processes, risks, mitigating controls and action plan development.
• Monitor and perform controls testing to validate the effectiveness of controls in our business units.
• Assist business units with timely reporting of Operational Risk incidents including root cause analyses and development of mitigating action plans.
• Identify and analyze trends in KRIs for risk profile reports, as well as other findings reported to Risk Management and compare against benchmarking of Operational Risks and loss data.
• Perform reviews of operations and provide recommendations to improve quality of risk controls.
• Analyze, track, and produce the reporting of issues and action plans in GRC tool.
• Assist in conducting Operational Risk scenario analysis for annual capital stress testing
• Assist in updating Operational Risk Management policy and procedures, and other related materials.
• Assist in preparing reports to the Management Risk Committee, New Products & Initiatives Committees, the Board, and other risk oversight committees.
• Perform additional duties as requested.

SKILLS, EDUCATION, & EXPERIENCE 

• Bachelor’s degree required.
• 5+ years of experience in Banking, Financial Services, or possess a consulting background, preferably in Operational Risk Management (or have similar Audit or Compliance experience).
• Credit Risk and Lending, or Finance background desired.
• Certification in Risk Management, preferably Operational Risk
• Proven ability to challenge business operating units with regards to first line and second line functions
• Knowledge of compliance laws, rules, regulations, risks, and controls (BSA/AML, etc.).
• Familiarity with Governance Risk and Compliance (GRC) tools.
• Advance knowledge of MS Office, SharePoint.
• Strong technical skills with the ability to streamline data, design and standardize risk reporting.
• Strong project management and the ability to manage several tasks at once.
• Excellent written and verbal communication and ability to interact with all levels of the Bank.
• Team player in an evolving Operational Risk Management environment, incorporating a positive attitude and flexible approach.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, multitask, and meet deadlines.
