Operational Accounting Manager:
As the Operational Accounting Manager, you will oversee transactional accounting processes, including accounts receivable and payables, expense reporting, journal entries, annual reporting, and reconciliations. Lead and mentor a team of Staff Accountants, coordinators, and specialists. Collaborate cross-functionally with all departments to optimize transactional efficiency. Serve as the point-of-contact for accounting projects within the organization. Engage in regular client-facing interactions, meeting with Finance and other external stakeholders to ensure world-class client-centric service delivery.
What you’ll do:
- Manage month-end close process ensuring all journal recordings are performed accurately and on time in adherence with group deadlines.
- Establish internal controls and guidelines for accounting transactions and budget preparation.
- Oversees preparation of business activity reports, financial forecasts, and budgets.
- Ensures that financial reports comply with generally accepted accounting principles or financial reporting standards.
- Manage accounts receivable/payable and billing functions collaborating with both internal and external stakeholders to ensure efficient end to end processes are being established and followed to meet agreed upon service levels and terms.
- Become primary administrator of the accounting records in the accounting systems and assist with ad-hoc accounting/finance projects.
- Proactively identify opportunities to leverage software and reporting capabilities to improve standard reporting and ad-hoc reporting needs.
- Collaborate with external auditors to ensure reporting requirements are met.
- Ensure proper reconciliations, allocations and documentation is maintained for all accounts (inclusive of both income statement and balance sheet accounts).
- Assist with the implementation of new accounting policies as needed.
- Coach, mentor, and develop staff.
- Performs other related duties as necessary or assigned.
What we’re looking for:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting/Auditing/Business Management with 5 years of experience in an accounting role/function.
- Further educational would be advantageous.
- Completed CPA articles or equivalent professional development preferred.
- Previous supervisory experience preferred.
- Expertise in Microsoft Office and D365 preferred.
- Experience with Concur Expense preferred.
