Operating Room Registered Nurse (Per Diem or Part Time)

We are currently seeking an energetic, friendly, and detail-oriented person to join our team as an Operating Room Registered Nurse. You will work alongside our surgical team in our state-of-the-art Ambulatory Surgical Center. Your primary duties include providing safe, efficient, and compassionate care for patients before, during and after surgery. Provide assistance the surgeon by anticipating their needs and ensuring a procedure is executed as smoothly and efficiently as possible. Must have strong interpersonal skills and excellent written and verbal skills. Must be reliable, punctual, multi-tasker and be able to interact professionally with patient population. Previous ophthalmology and plastic surgical experience is preferred. We will provide on-the-job training and various opportunities for growth.
List of Responsibilities/Duties:
- Function as a circulating, pre-operative, or recovery nurse as assigned.
- Participates as a team member and assists in all activities in the Operating Room.
- Educating the patients on any pre- and post- procedure instructions.
- Preparing, administering, and recording prescribed medications.
- Monitoring, interpreting, and recording data from medical equipment.
- Ability to start IVs.
- Transports and positions patients as needed.
- Assists in preparation and maintenance of equipment and supplies.
- Assists with setup of the sterile field and environment.
- Recognizes breaks in sterile technique and takes corrective action.
- Assists with clean-up of rooms between cases.
- Performs a variety of direct and indirect patient care duties.
- Maintain medical supplies inventory.
- Performs various clerical and administrative duties.
- Other duties as assigned.

Minimum Background Requirements:
- Active license to practice as a RN in the state of Hawaii
- Minimum two (2) year ophthalmology experience
- Current BLS CPR Certification
