** NOTE: Normal start time is 7:30am but may on occasion require to start as early as 5:30am **
As a successful candidate, you will:
- Performs clerical/reception duties, interacts with patients in the department, and schedules procedures and vendors for Perioperative Services. Interacts positively with patients, their families.
- Schedules operative procedures in accordance with OR standards, policy and procedure.
- Confers with the department leadership team concerning the surgery schedule.
- Apprises Nursing Manager or designee immediately of circumstances which may result in surgery schedule disruption, the projection of negative impressions or other consequences adversely affecting patient care.
- Cooperates with other personnel to achieve department and interdepartmental objectives and maintain good employee relations.
- Maintains department records, reports, and files as required.
- Prioritizes work and provides prompt and efficient service.
- Maintains a safe, comfortable and therapeutic environment for patients/families in accordance with hospital standards.
- Attends meetings as required.
- Follows established City of Hope and department policies, procedures, objectives, performance improvement, attendance, safety, environmental, and infection control guidelines. Practices a high level of integrity and honesty in maintaining confidentiality.
- Answers telephones, screens and routes callers, takes accurate messages and provides complete information to callers.
- Assists with the movement of patients and visitors within perioperative services.
- Performs other related duties as assigned or requested.
Your qualifications should include:
- High School or equivalent
- Experience may substitute for minimum education requirements
- One year previous experience within a healthcare setting
