Position: Open Choice Math Tutor
School: Highcrest Elementary School
Reports To: Building Principal
Start Date: Approximately January 10, 2024
Compensation: $25.62-$30.22 per hour worked (Paid for hours worked only - position carries no entitlement to healthcare or paid time off benefits)
Hours: 5.5 hours per day, 27.5 hours per week (Monday-Friday)

Highcrest Elementary School has an opening for an Open Choice Math Tutor. We are looking for a motivated and dedicated professional with superior communication skills to provide student intervention support for the 2023-2024 academic year. The chosen candidate will begin the assignment in early January 2024 and will continue through the end of the academic year (June 2024).
The Math Tutor role is part-time and is supported through grant funding. The role is targeted for employment through the end of the 2023-2024 school year and there is no guarantee of continued employment beyond the school year.
The Math Tutor will work across all grade levels (K-6) to support students with direct, targeted math intervention/instruction to promote student growth toward grade level expectations and goal mastery.
Responsibilities:

• Implement daily lesson plans for students targeting individualized support;
• Work directly with students to provide one-on-one, small group instruction or push into classrooms;
• Provide students with positive feedback and encouragement;
• Support student understanding of math concepts and demonstration of math fluency skills;
• Track and maintain records of student progress;
• Collaborate with classroom teachers to communicate goals/achievements, progress, student challenges and changes in interventions;
• Foster a positive learning environment that is sensitive to student needs that promotes increased math/learning performance.

Qualifications:

• Hold minimum of an Associate's degree;
• Elementary Teacher certification is preferred, but not required;
• Enthusiasm for helping children;
• Respectful attitude;
• Ability to manage plans and drive positive results;
• Patience;
• Flexibility and adaptability
