Options for Youth is a free, year-round public charter school that works alongside its students to design individualized learning plans. We work to effectively meet their unique academic, social-emotional, and scheduling needs through a blended teaching model, utilizing one-on-one instruction and tutoring, independent study, online learning, small group classes, cultural immersion, and hands-on activities to prepare our students for success.
The primary goal of this position is primarily responsible for delivering our educational program to ensure data-driven, results based instruction for students in the implementation of the Common Core Standards.
Our Ideal Candidate Will:
- Masters instruction using an array of teaching strategies and technologies.
- Utilizes educational technology and media to enhance learning.
- Chats in virtual discussion threads and manages small groups of students to meet individual needs.
- Facilitates collaborative grouping and keeps the learning management system organized and updated.
- Lesson plans a differentiated curriculum to ensure student success.
- Uses assessments and data to influence instruction for student success.
- Keeps grade, attendance and retention records.
We'll need you to have the following requirements:
- BA/BS Degree
- CA Preliminary or Clear Single Subject teaching credential in Spanish with an EL Authorization
- Proficient computer knowledge and previous experience with Student Trac A+
Pay: $33.00 per hour
