Job Description
A substitute teacher On Call, a temporary replacement for a regular classroom teacher who is absent and would be responsible for carrying out the regular teacher's lesson plans and maintaining a safe and productive learning environment for the students. They may be called on short notice or in advance to fill in for a teacher who is absent due to illness, personal leave, or other reasons.
Responsibilities:
- Providing basic care giving to children.
- Interacting and communicating with children, parents and other employees.
- Planning and implementing age appropriate lesson plans/curriculum while assessing and responding to the individual needs of the children.
- Teaching curriculum that is construct and creative with the goal of kindergarten readiness.
- Providing a clean and well organized classroom.
- Conduct all required parent/teacher conference and home visits.
- Attend all required staff meeting, functions and development opportunities.
- Maintaining a commitment and dedication to providing a safe learning environment for all children.
- Establishing and maintaining effective, professional working relationships with parents and staff.
- Demonstrating a high degree of professionalism and quality of work.
- Maintaining flexibility in work assignments.
Qualifications
- 1 year experience in an early childhood classroom
- teaching certification or have completed a certain amount of college coursework in education

Physical Requirements:
- Be able to lift up to 55 pounds.
- Frequent bending, walking, squatting, lifting, standing, and/or sitting.
