Under the general direction of the Tax Administrator I, the Office Technician (Typing), as part of a team, performs Attendance Clerk duties for a division made up of 13 attendance reporting units, which contain approximately 400 employees total.

The attendance clerks are responsible for maintaining attendance and overtime records; preparing and processing appointment and separation documents; submitting required forms for employee benefit options; and acting as a liaison between assigned attendance reporting units and the Human Resource Services Division Personnel Specialist.

Timeliness, accuracy, and personal accountability, are imperative skills, as the records involved represent the basis on which employees are paid and adequate staffing levels are maintained across the division. The incumbent applies knowledge of general office practices and is involved in sensitive and confidential staff contact situations.

This position is headquartered in Sacramento, CA and may be eligible for telework under EDD's telework policy. California Government Code Section 14200 requires employees to reside in California to telecommute. Employees are required to report to their headquarters office, as needed. Travel expenses to and from the assigned headquarters are the responsibility of the employee.

Background Investigation Requirement
