Who we are looking for:
This position will require working closely with our DON (Director of Nurses) to ensure patients are staffed in a timely and effective manner. Our ideal candidate is a friendly, personable, organized, and focused individual who is comfortable working with Excel spreadsheets, inputting data, and making and answering phone calls.
Key Responsibilities include:
- Receiving Faxed Orders from Physician Offices and Hospitals.
- Performing Intake Duties upon receiving Patient Referrals from Physician's Offices.
- Quality assurance duties.
- Calling clinics for updates regarding patient information, aspects of therapy, and more.
- Answering phone calls from clinics.
- Faxing therapy evaluations to physician clinics.
- Receiving therapy evaluations from physician clinics.
- Sending therapy evaluations to insurance (along with other documents) in order to get authorizations for treatment.
- Calling insurance to get status updates on patient's treatment authorizations.
- Completing some home health visits when necessary (ex: SOC)
Important Note:
Deep knowledge of how the work of the different insurance will be essential to your success as a member of our office team. You will be required to learn and internalize the differences between varying Medicare, Medicaid, and Commercial Insurance.
Skills We are Looking For:
- Exceptional Communication Skills -- (the majority of this communication will be over the phone)
- Optimal Microsoft Word and Excel skills.
- Electronic Medical Record Software Experience (Kantime)
- Home health or QA experience preferred
