Our Office Nurses are assigned to either a specific physician, nurse practitioner, or are assigned to work for other staff members who are on paid leave. They offer clinical care at 3 locations – Dowell Springs, Parkside Drive, and Emory Road. They are responsible for assessing patients, scheduling testing, providing patient education and rendering medical care under the supervision of a physician or nurse practitioner. This is a full-time position working 40 hours, typically 8:00 am – 5:00 pm Monday through Friday.
Some Key responsibilities are:
- Answer telephone calls regarding current concerns patients may have and communicating with the providers, answering patient questions, providing instructions for scheduled diagnostic testing, using e-scribe to prescribe or refill medications
- Working in clinic with a practitioner, scheduling endoscopic procedures and other testing, reviewing preparation instructions for testing and assisting the provider with in-office exams
- Entering data into our EMR, electronically filing incoming correspondence and/ or records, faxing records
- Administering injections, provide medication samples under the supervision of a practitioner and filling out forms for prior approval of certain medications.
- Reviewing medical information portals to obtain data as requested by the practitioner such as eTHin
