The Office Manager at Johns Hopkins Community Physicians Children's Heart Institute will cover multiple locations. This position provides leadership and guidance to the Medical Assistants by allowing for the smooth flow of patients through the practice an day to day operations. Direct supervision of certified medical assistants is a pivotal function of this role.
This role reports to the Practice Administrator and with the clinical leadership of the Co-leads will function as an integral member of the interdisciplinary health care team in providing the highest quality of care to the patient.
Shift: Days, 8:30 am-5:30 pm
Education:
- High school Diploma or State Qualified GED
- Graduation from an accredited Medical Assistant or Nursing Assistant Training Program and/or successful completion of the Medical Assistant/Nursing Assistant Certification Exam preferred.
Work Experience:
Three to five years supervisory experience required, preferably in a medical practice/healthcare setting
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities Include:
- Prior management along with effective interpersonal skills
- Demonstrated written and verbal communication skills are a must.
- Effective time management and organizational skills.
- Ability to learn and use a computer-based patient appointment scheduling and registration system.
- Responsible for performance reviews and, in conjunction with the practice administrator, counseling and discipline.
- Uses specific body of knowledge and critical thinking to improve patient care processes and operational efficiency. Independently resolves minor patient and staff issues.
