Job Description
Our company, Panoptic Group Inc, is expanding and we are looking for an experienced Office Accountant and/or Bookkeeper. The Office Accountant/Bookkeeper would be responsible for all aspects of Accounting and Reporting as it relates to our development and construction projects as well the filing and office needs. An Accounting Degree is requested for this position as the job is heavily focused on Accounting. Quickbooks experience is mandatory and applicants will be tested in the interview process for competency in the Quickbooks software specifically. This is the software program that will be used for all aspects of the work and we want to make sure there is no learning curve. Experience in Construction waivers and draws would also be helpful for this position, but not required. Lastly, would be beneficial if fluent in either Polish or Ukrainian, but not required. This is NOT a remote position - in office, Monday - Friday.
Specific Responsibilities are
Maintain and Implement Organized Filing System
Maintain QuickBooks for all company projects including doing daily or bi-daily bank account and QB reconciliations.
daily accounting journals, ledgers and other records detailing financial business transactions, job cost tracking, processing of all vendor payments, as well as account analysis and reconciliation
Sort through invoices and bills and add them to QB and payment schedules to determine payment needs for multiple projects
preparation of monthly financial statements in QB
Work with project managers or 3rd party development partners to obtain information to book monthly draw accruals.
Review and enhance the existing system of controls and financial reporting for development and construction projects.
Qualifications and Personal Characteristics:
Previous experience in accounting and Quickbooks
Capable of effectively managing and prioritizing multiple tasks and responsibilities
Able to make decisions independently and knows when to seek outside assistance
Comfortable working as part of a small team during a growth phase
Strong attention to detail
Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel and Quickbooks
Good written communication skills
