As an Off-Road/Extended Reach Forklift Operator, you will be responsible for operating heavy-duty forklifts designed for off-road and extended reach applications. Your primary duty will be to safely and efficiently maneuver the forklift to transport materials, equipment, and products within construction sites, warehouses, or other industrial settings.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Safe Operation: Operate off-road/extended Reach Forklift equipment in a safe manner, adhering to all relevant safety protocols and procedures. Ensure compliance with OSHA regulations and company safety policies.
  • Material Handling: Load, unload, and move materials, supplies, and products using the forklift. This may include lifting heavy items and maneuvering in tight spaces or uneven terrain.
  • Inventory Management: Assist in inventory control by accurately tracking materials and products moved using the forklift. Report any discrepancies or damages to supervisors promptly.
  • Equipment Maintenance: Perform routine maintenance checks on the forklift, including inspecting for signs of wear or damage, checking fluid levels, and ensuring proper functioning of all safety features. Report any maintenance issues to the maintenance department.
  • Communication: Maintain clear communication with supervisors, coworkers, and other personnel to coordinate material movements and ensure operational efficiency.
  • Compliance: Ensure compliance with company policies, procedures, and regulations related to forklift operation and workplace safety at all times.
  • Problem Solving: Identify and resolve any operational issues or challenges that may arise during forklift operation, such as navigating rough terrain or handling oversized loads.
  • Environmental Awareness: Operate the forklift with consideration for the surrounding environment, minimizing any impact on landscaping, infrastructure, or other sensitive areas.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Valid Forklift Operator certification.
  • Previous experience operating off-road or extended Reach Forklifts preferred.
  • Strong understanding of safety protocols and practices related to forklift operation.
  • Ability to lift heavy objects and work in various weather conditions.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
  • Attention to detail and ability to follow instructions accurately.

Physical Requirements / Working Environment

  • Position is located at 2730 Mine and Mill Road, Lakeland FL 33801.
  • This is a full-time position. Days and hours of work vary (Monday - Sunday with some overnight work) and overtime is frequently required.
  • Working environment is often times in harsh elements (hot / humid and/or cold temperatures, rain, etc.) Industrial environments often have exposure to hazardous chemicals, moving heavy equipment / machinery, and other safety-sensitive hazards / risks. Must always be alert and able to safely perform the essential duties of the job without risking harm to oneself or others.
  • While performing the duties of this job, you will:
  • Occasionally perform physical activities that require use of your arms and legs and moving your whole body, such as climbing, lifting, balancing, walking, and stooping.
  • Occasionally use hands and arms in handling, moving materials, and manipulating things.
