JOB TITLE: OE Quality Engineer
REPORTS TO: OE Quality Manager
JOB PURPOSE: Responsible for the quality of the original equipment tires supplied to North America and positively representing the company when dealing with Pirelli stakeholders.
MAIN ACCOUNTABILITIES:
- Meet KPIs on OE PPM performance and OE claims cost management for passenger care and SUV tires sold in the North American Region
- Provide OEM direct customer service and act as a liaison between the manufacturing process and OEMs
- Help lead the OE quality development process for passenger car and SUV tires
- Identify and resolve quality assurance issues and OE customer service-related issues that may arise as a result of manufacturing or transport
- Analyze statistical data and tire specifications to determine present quality standards in order to establish quality and reliability standards for finished products
- Provide responses to all OE customer complaints and determine actions needed to prevent recurrence
- Visit OE customers periodically to confer and resolve specific quality problems while enhancing/promoting Pirelli's image
- Identify and introduce best practices throughout the business in order to align people, processes and systems to most effectively achieve business objectives
- Facilitate teamwork between the PTNA Quality Team and their global counterparts while ensuring effective and timely communication
- Maintain a safe working environment with high housekeeping standards
REQUIREMENTS:
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Technology, or Business
- Effective communication skills, both written and spoken
- Microsoft Suite skills (Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, Word)
- Ability to work cross-functionally and in multiple work styles
- Automotive Industry enthusiast
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Experience in a manufacturing environment
- Experience in QMS audits as a trained RABOSA - Certified ISO 9001:2015 and IATF 16949:2016
- Certified Quality Engineer (CQE) and Process Kaizen Engineer (PKE)
- Certified Six Sigma Black Belt
- Core tools (MSA, SPC, APQP, FMEA, and PPAP) certified
- Knowledge of ISO 19011 guidelines and/or environmental management systems auditing
- Knowledge of ISO/IEC 17021 Conformity assessment and ANSI/SO 17025
- Ability to use Quality tools (histograms, Pareto charts, control charts, cause and effect, etc.)
- Basics on tire construction requirements
- Awareness of DOT requirements, risk management, and product compliance
