Salus University is seeking qualified applicants for a faculty member (track and rank will be determined based on the applicant) for the Occupational Therapy (OT) Department. The program resides in the College of Health Sciences, Education and Rehabilitation (CHER) that also includes programs in speech-language pathology, physician assistant, blindness and low vision, post-baccalaureate, biomedicine, and orthotics and prosthetics.
The faculty member will work with the Program Director, Academic Fieldwork Coordinator, OT faculty and staff, and CHER and University faculty to ensure that the educational environment demonstrates qualities needed to provide a superior education in accordance with ACOTE standards.
Principal Duties and Responsibilities:
As a core faculty member, and in accordance with ACOTE Standards, the OT faculty member has responsibility for upholding and adherence to ACOTE students for the academic and clinical programing, providing didactic and clinical student instruction and designing, implementing, coordinator, and evaluating curriculum. In this position, you will be responsible for interviewing and selecting applications for admission to the program as well as administrating and evaluating the program. In addition, you will be responsible for evaluating student performance and ensuring the availability of remedial instruction as needed, as well as academic counseling of OT students. You will also be responsible for clinical duties as OTI and supporting fieldwork students and assuming any other related duties necessary to develop and maintain an effective program and clinical environment.
Core faculty members must not participate as health care providers for students in the program.
Education/Experience Requirements:
- Graduation from an accredited OT program
- Abide by the current Occupational Therapy code of ethics, standards of practice, philosophy, vision and goals
- Masters level degree from accredited Occupational Therapy program
- NBCOT Certified Occupational Therapist with current licensure in Pennsylvania, or license eligible
- Minimum three years Occupational Therapy clinical experience
- Documented expertise in a relevant area of teaching responsibility
- Knowledge of content delivery methods including web-supported classes and distance learning
- Excellent oral, written, and computer skills (proficiency in electronic communication, work processing, and accessing internet resources)
- Knowledge of the roles, responsibilities and scope of practice of the Occupational Therapy profession

- Evidence of interest in research/scholarly activities preferred
- Active participation/leadership in local, regional or national OT organizations preferred
- Funded grant work or grant writing experience preferred
Salary Range: $75,000-$82,000 based on experience
