Occupational Therapist - School Based - Full Time And Part Time

Job Summary:

Responsibilities:

1. Patient Assessment and Evaluation:

   • Conduct thorough assessments of patients' physical, cognitive, emotional, and environmental capabilities to determine their specific needs and abilities.
   • Evaluate patients' functional status and performance in activities of daily living (ADLs) to establish baseline data for treatment planning.

2. Treatment Planning and Implementation:

   • Develop personalized, goal-oriented treatment plans based on the assessment results, patients' needs, and desired outcomes.
   • Implement therapeutic interventions, exercises, and activities to improve patients' abilities to perform ADLs and develop essential skills for independent living.

3. Therapeutic Interventions:

   • Administer a range of occupational therapy treatments, including manual therapies, therapeutic exercises, sensory integration, assistive device training, and adaptive equipment recommendations.
   • Guide patients in developing strategies to enhance their motor skills, coordination, balance, and sensory integration.

4. Documentation and Reporting:

   • Accurately document patient evaluations, treatment plans, progress, and discharge summaries in compliance with regulatory and organizational guidelines.
   • Provide timely progress reports to other members of the healthcare team and adjust treatment plans as needed.

5. Patient Education and Counseling:

   • Educate patients and their families on therapeutic activities, exercises, and strategies to improve functioning and enhance their quality of life.
   • Offer emotional support and guidance to help patients cope with challenges related to their conditions and improve their mental well-being.

6. Collaboration and Communication:

   • Collaborate with physicians, nurses, social workers, and other healthcare professionals to ensure a comprehensive and coordinated approach to patient care.
   • Participate in team meetings and provide input on patients' progress and treatment plans.

7. Compliance and Safety:

   • Adhere to all regulatory requirements, ethical standards, and organizational policies to ensure patient safety, confidentiality, and quality care.
   • Maintain a safe and clean therapy environment and follow infection control protocols.

Qualifications:

• Education and Licensure:

  • Master's degree in Occupational Therapy from an accredited program.
  • Current and valid licensure as an Occupational Therapist.

• Experience:

  • Previous experience as an Occupational Therapist is preferred but not required.

• Skills and Competencies:

  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Empathy, patience, and a client-centered approach to care.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a multidisciplinary team.
  • Strong problem-solving and critical thinking skills.
