General Description:
Under general supervision, performs professional Occupational Therapy activities consisting of planning, evaluating, establishing and implementing individual and group treatment activities under the direction of a physician.
Essential Responsibilities:

- Interpret a physician’s referral and select an appropriate standardized evaluation procedure
- Evaluate patient in the following areas: independent living skills, occupational performance, prevocational work adjustment, educational skills, play-leisure abilities, social skills and various psychosocial skills
- Interpret the data and develop a treatment plan involving short and long term goals, frequency and duration of treatment
- Assist patient in carrying out these procedures through the design and fabrication of adaptive equipment and orthotic devices, joint protection and body mechanics
- Inform patient and family goals and progress
- Assist with discharge planning by ordering equipment and instructing patient on home therapy plan
- May supervise students
- Performs other duties as assigned
Minimum Qualifications:
Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Occupational Therapy.
Experience: None
License(s)/Certification(s)/Registration(s) Required:
- Current license from the Oklahoma State Board of Medical Licensure and Supervision as an Occupational Therapist OR eligible to sit for the exam; License must be obtained within six (6) months of hire.
- Current Basic Life Support issued by the American Heart Association required upon hire.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- Knowledge of the principles and practices of professional occupational therapy and the materials and supplies utilized in the program.
- Skill in organizing and instructing occupational therapy activities.
- Ability to interpret prescriptions related to therapy needed.
- Good interpersonal skills in establishing effective working relations with staff.
- Ability to communicate instructions and technical information to patients.
- Some computer skills.
