Occupational Therapist - Outpatient
Position Highlights:
- Seeking a highly-motivated, positive, and innovative Occupational Therapist to join the Outpatient Rehab team at the Bellevue Medical Center as a member of the Neuro Rehab Program interdisciplinary care team
- Provide outpatient rehab for patients with a variety of neurological conditions including Parkinson's disease, cerebrovascular accident, TBI, concussion, multiple sclerosis, ataxia, and vision related diagnoses.
- The caseload consists of a high number of referrals for Parkinson's disease and involves long-term, skilled, outpatient rehab for this population. The ideal candidate is able to incorporate neuroplasticity-based and research-based high-intensity, large amplitude interventions for people with Parkinson's disease including Parkinson's Wellness Recovery (PWR!) and cognitive dual task training which are functional and specific to each individual patient
- As a member of the neuro rehab program, the Occupational Therapist will participate in interdisciplinary care involving on-site physical, occupational, and speech therapy as well as communication with providers and referral to other specialties as indicated to optimize patient quality of life and management of symptoms and communication with referring neurologists
- This position also involves communication and education to family and caregivers on home safety, occupation-based mobility, adaptations and compensatory techniques as needed, as well as other local resources including support groups and community-based exercise referrals.

Perform evaluations, planning, and implementation of occupational therapy treatments. Assist with department goal setting, program planning, clinical instruction, and staff instruction in order to maintain a progressive and educationally motivated staff. Carry out day to day communication and duties with teamwork and professionalism.
Required Qualifications:
- Graduate of an approved program for occupational therapy with a Bachelor's degree or higher required.
- Demonstrate strong written and verbal communication skills, excellent interpersonal skills, strong team orientation, and proficiency with items found in a typical OT facility (e.g., transfer and ADL adaptive equipment and splint supplies) required.
- National Board of Certification in Occupational Therapy registered or eligible to take exam is required.
- Licensed or eligible for licensure in the state of Nebraska is required.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification upon completion of unit orientation required.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Physical Agent Modality Certification preferred.
