OT Responsibilities:

• Provide occupational therapy services to clients according to physicians' written orders
• Assess and evaluate therapeutic/rehabilitative/functional status
• Develop a plan of care and treatment making sure the plan of care is consistent with the assessment
• Assess the home environment specifically as it relates to fall risk and interventions and home safety
• Report client's response to treatment or changes in condition to DON and physician
• As appropriate, coordinate interventions with other health care providers and live settings such as child care center, preschool, school, worksite, adult day care, or residential setting
• Instruct other personnel and/or family members on intervention goals
• Assist in identifying client and family/caregiver needs for other services
• Prepare and submit clinical progress summaries based on identified and attained goals
• Participate in discharge planning as appropriate
• Supervise Occupational Therapy Assistant(s) in accordance with organization policy and state regulations
• Assure compliance with all local, state, and federal regulations

OT Requirements:

• Graduation from an Occupational Therapy program accredited by the Accreditation Council for Occupational Therapy Education (ACOTE) or predecessor organization
• Successful completion of supervised fieldwork experienced as required by the educational institute where the applicant met the requirements set forth by the program
• Texas State Licensure
• Abide by Occupational Therapy Code of Ethics and demonstrate knowledge about and deliver services in accordance with its standards
• At least one (1) year of experience working as an Occupational Therapist with adult and pediatric patients
• Adhere to HIPAA and maintain client confidentiality
