Anchor Counseling & Education Solutions, LLC is a trusted and highly rated provider of special education related services for K-12 schools throughout California. We are urgently seeking a CA Certified Occupational Therapist education service and supports for students enrolled in K-12 educational settings both in group and individual capacity.
OCCUPATIONAL THERAPIST JOB DEFINITION
The Occupational Therapist serves as a member of the multidisciplinary team in providing assessment, consultation to parents and teachers, and consultation services/direct treatment services for pupils with disabling conditions from birth through age 22. The Occupational Therapist provides assessment, planning, goal development, and appropriate intervention services to assist students in acquiring functional performance skills and to help students function independently. Will provide supervision for the development, assessment, and implementation of sensory and motor specific programs. Coordinates services and evaluations with other Classified and Certificated staff. Performs other job related duties as required by supervisor.
QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS
The Occupational Therapist must possess and retain certification that will allow authorization to provide occupational therapy services to students with disabilities. Must be California certified and reside in the state of California.
Essential Duties:
• Provide occupational therapy to students from ages 0 to 22 years old
• Respond to questions and inquiries both basic and technical related to assigned students• Conduct assessments for students to determine a need for occupational therapy
• Participate in multidisciplinary team assessments and reporting
• Attend Individualized Education Program (IEP) team meetings as necessary to review assessment data, consult on occupational therapy plans, and develop goals and objectives
• Plan and develop therapeutic intervention goals that are educationally relevant and will be used in
student’s educational programs
• Maintain documentation that is professional, efficient, and accountable; and that conforms to state and individual agency policies
• Communicate results of evaluations and reports of occupational therapy services to the educational staff, parents, students, and other professionals and/or agencies concerned with the students
• Develops goals and objectives as part of the child's IEP and provides direct therapy and/or consultation in order to meet these goals
• Makes adaptations for equipment and instructional/communication materials, as appropriate
• Recommends termination of service when benefit has been achieved.
• Documents evaluation results, treatment and follow-up, submitting these and other required reports in
a timely fashion.
• Collaborate with peers in developing recommendations for protocol and procedures.
Other Related Duties:
• Attend appropriate in-service training, workshops, and meetings, as assigned, to keep informed of
current practices and trends in assigned area and to meet new safety and/or technology standards
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
Education:
• Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university
License and Certificates:
• License with California Board of Occupational Therapy
• Possession of a valid Class C California driver’s license (as appropriate to the assignment) and
access to reliable insured transportation to and between assigned school sites during the school day.
• TB clearance required within 30 days prior to employment

DESIRABLE QUALIFICATIONS
• Previous experience working effectively with culturally and linguistically diverse groups
• Ability to speak a language in addition to English
• Ability to continuously seek quality service and process improvements in order to support a mission and strategic vision
• Previous experience in a school districts or charter schools
• Experience in treatment and evaluation of children with developmental delays, neurological and orthopedic disabilities, and/or perceptual disabilities
