AnthroMed Education is a local and fast-growing provider of Special Education services to pre-K-12 schools throughout the Greater Chicagoland area. We’re motivated to find new ways to improve the working relationship between therapists and schools and focus on what matters most, which is the students we support.
AnthroMed Education is hiring a full-time Occupational Therapist in Chicago, IL. In this role, the OT will work between two schools, providing services and support to K-8th grade students. The OT will be responsible for managing a 42-student caseload. Position Overview:
- Work full-time, Monday-Friday from 7:45 AM-3:45 AM or 8:00 AM-4 PM.
- Using current occupational therapy principles, and school guidelines/protocols, and best practices.
- Provide direct and consult occupational therapy services to students in a K-8th grade school setting as indicated in student plans such as IEP/504/MTSS/health plans.
- Ensure 100% compliance as required by ISBE/authorizing district/network as it relates to physical therapy in the school setting (including, but not limited to, meeting compliance timelines and service delivery).
- Provide a thorough assessment and identification of occupational therapy needs (i.e motor, sensory), and utilize data to develop and implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs), 504, MTSS, and/or health plans.
- Create an individualized therapy program for students, sharing with classroom teachers and families.
- Use various strategies and best practices to help students increase strength and dexterity and provide access to the educational setting.
- Keep ongoing and detailed records of services provided.
- Maintain ongoing and detailed records of student progress throughout the year, including qualitative and quantitative data related to students’ responses to interventions and services, and the use of data to inform evidence-based decisions.
- Support network initiatives in the development and implementation of wellness programs through the lens of a school-based Occupational Therapist.
- Attend required meetings and be a contributing participant in the OT/PT/ School/ SSS teams.
- Other duties as assigned within the scope of occupational therapy and as a member of the SSS individual Student, School, and Network teams.
- Master’s Degree in Occupational Therapy
- Valid Illinois Occupational Therapy License
- Experience providing Occupational Therapy in a school setting to K-8th grade students is preferred
