- A Bachelor's Degree from an accredited college or university in this, or a related field.
- Graduation from an accredited program of occupational therapy recognized by National Board for Certification in Occupational Therapy

Performance Responsibilities:
Essential Functions
- To develop, implement and coordinate the school district's occupational therapy program with the district's philosophy, vision, procedures and goals in mind.
- To screen, evaluate, and monitor students for the purpose of gauging the need for educational programs and therapeutic intervention.
- Collaborate with staff to ensure team understanding of student occupational performance strengths and needs, as well as student outcomes.
- Evaluate student ability and formulate individualized occupational profiles by providing written reports that reflect strengths and barriers to student participation in their educational environment.
- Participate in the development of Individualized Education Programs.
- Provide targeted, evidence-based therapeutic intervention to facilitate student participation and occupational performance within the school environment.
- Assess the need for assistive technology and equipment and make recommendations for its use.
- Document occupational therapy services, and maintain records in accordance with school district policies, as well as state and federal laws and regulations.
- Continue to acquire professional knowledge and learn of current developments in the educational field by attending seminars, workshops or professional meetings, or by conducting research, and by maintaining professional relationships.
