Job Description
We are seeking an Occupational Therapist to join our partnered client's team in Norwood, MA.
The therapist shall be a therapeutic recreation specialist or an activities professional who:
- Is certified as a therapeutic recreation specialist or an activity professional by an accrediting body recognized by the Department; or
- Is a qualified Occupational Therapist; or
- Is an occupational therapy assistant; or
- Has at least two years of experience working in a social or recreational program within the last five years, one of which was full-time in an activities program in a health care setting.
The Program shall:
- consult with an Occupational Therapist in the development of a therapeutic activities program that meets the individual needs of each participant; or
- adopt a model therapeutic activities program, provided that the model activities program is developed in consultation with an Occupational Therapist and implement such activities program in a manner that meets the individual needs of each participant.
Responsibilities:
- Developing and implementing the therapeutic activity program for each participant.
- Supervising the program aides who assist with therapeutic activities.
- Planning and scheduling activities and events; (d) Posting in a conspicuous place a monthly calendar of activities and events.
- Contributing to each participant's comprehensive assessment and plan of care.
- Writing a therapeutic activity note at least one time every 90 days or more often as necessary in each participant's health record that documents the participant's therapeutic activity needs, participation in, reaction to, and current preference for activities; and
- Assisting as necessary with other Services.
- Rehabilitation Services. Rehabilitation services shall be provided by licensed physical therapists
Requirements:
- Current and Active Occupational Therapist license within the state of operations
- Prefer-experience/knowledge in older adult rehabilitation.
- Prefer knowledge in governmental and regulatory guidelines in designated healthcare settings
