About us
Safe Haven School is a small therapeutic school which supports students with emotional challeges. All students are eligible for special education services and placed at our school by their school district.
Duties:
- Evaluate students eligibility for school based Occupational Therapy services
- Develop and implement individualized therapy programs and Individualized Education Plan goals
- Provide hands-on therapy to students, including exercises, activities, and adaptive equipment
- Educate students and their families on therapeutic techniques and strategies for managing daily activities
- Collaborate with other professionals, such as teachers, social workers, physicians, nurses, and speech therapists, to coordinate care
- Monitor and document students' progress throughout the therapy process
- Stay up-to-date with the latest research and advancements in occupational therapy practices
Qualifications:
- Master's degree in Occupational Therapy from an accredited program
- Valid state license or certification as an Occupational Therapist
- Experience working in a school setting preferred
- Knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, and physiology
- Familiarity with occupational health and safety practices
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills to effectively interact with students and their families
- Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team

Pay: $49.79 - $53.17 per hour
Expected hours: 5 – 8 per week
