Job Description Summary
Responsible for providing on-site and remote Occupational Health nursing care under medical supervision as authorized by Federal and Local laws; which may include emergency care, acute injury/illness care, case management for personal health-related issues and work related injury/illness, pre-travel and general nursing wellness advice.

Job Description
Roles and Responsibilities
  • Responsible for providing direct on-site acute injury/illness care. This will include Occupational Health nursing and workers comp case management to a specific site and remote guidance to dispersed colleagues as authorized by Federal/Local laws and under directives and governance from GEHC.
  • Will be tasked with advocating for a positive and thriving work culture, taking the lead on projects related to health promotion at the site or regional level.
  • Collaboration with Benefits, EHS, and other stakeholders will be integral to the successful implementation of these initiatives.

Required Qualifications
  • Ability to travel between manufacturing and commercial sites in the Waukesha, WI Area and provide on-site care.
  • Hold a valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in Wisconsin and current certification in Basic Life Support.
  • Minimum 2 years of independent clinical experience in adult clinical care. This includes Occupational health departments, hospital, primary care, urgent care, ER or public health department setting.
  • Proficient in nursing assessment/treatment skills, basic emergency response per BLS requirements, administering medications per standing order protocol, administering vaccinations and phlebotomy.
  • Proficiency utilizing Microsoft Outlook, Word and Excel, and web-based systems/programs and electronic medical record systems.

Desired Characteristics
  • Certified Occupational Health Nurse (COHN) , COHN-CM, CCM and knowledge of FMLA, Workers' Compensation, ADA, and OSHA regulations.
  • Prior work experience in an Occupational Health clinic.
  • Keen eagerness to learn, adapt to the dynamic pace of business requirements and shifting priorities
  • Strong interpersonal skills to cultivate strong working relationships with fellow clinical professionals, and colleagues at all levels throughout the organization.
  • Effective problem-solving skills: capable of making autonomous decisions and handling conflicting priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong oral, written communication skills. Prior evidence in analyzing and resolve problems in clinical settings.

Physical Requirements:
  • Prolonged periods of sitting and standing at a desk for computer work.
  • Must be able to transport standard clinic emergency bag and perform high quality emergency response per BLS certification.
