The Occupancy Analyst will assist the Compliance Department and ensure compliance with the occupancy of a portfolio of mixed-use affordable housing properties. This position ensures properties are in compliance with all occupancy regulations established by HUD, the Tax Credit Allocation Committee (TCAC) and other regulatory bodies for all TSA properties, as well as leasing up of new developments and acquisitions. This position is currently based in Los Angeles. Future assignments may involve travel to properties throughout the Greater Los Angeles, Orange, Riverside, San Diego, and Fresno County area based on business needs.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide resident file, recertification and compliance support to property staff.
  • Assist Property Managers with the organization and purging of resident files according to program requirements and company policies.
  • Audit property files to ensure that they are properly maintained in accordance with the governing agencies, including HUD, TCAC, HCID-LA, HCD, CalHFA, USDA, Bonds, banks, and TSA's policies and procedures.
  • Respond to Property Managers and Regional Property Supervisor questions regarding compliance and the annual recertification processes.
  • Stay abreast of legal and regulatory updates and provide administrative assistance to Director of Compliance as necessary.
  • Daily travel to TSA properties as needed to provide compliance support.
  • Submit weekly and monthly reports on time as directed.

  • High School diploma/GED required. College degree or equivalent combination of education, training and work experience preferred.
  • Two (2) to five (5) years solid affordable housing management experience with relevant affordable housing programs.
  • Certified Professional of Occupancy (CPO), Specialist in Housing Credit Management (SHCM), or other industry certifications preferred.
  • Highly organized and self-motivated.
  • Strong math and analytical skills.
  • Familiarity with Fair Housing laws preferred but not required
  • Strong written and verbal skills
  • Warm, outgoing personality
  • Strong computer skills including Microsoft Office required. Yardi preferred
