Job Description:

Departmental responsibilities include training of medical students,residents in both OB/GYN and Family Practice and providing superior generalobstetrical clinical and supervisory services.  The role would include being the Assistant Residency Program Director,assisting the Residency Program Director with residency management anddepartmental academic goals. We provide services and support for women who areseeking prenatal care, childbirth services and well-woman care at every stageof life.

Acclaim's Women's and Infants Service Line at John Peter Smith Hospital is a robust multidisciplinary team of physicians and advanced practice professionals who are dedicated to meeting the complete health care needs of women in our community. We provide services and support for women at every stage of life, including but not limited to preventative health care, low and high risk prenatal/childbirth/postnatal care, menopause care, urogynecology, and gynecologic oncology evaluation and treatment.  Our physicians provide 24 hour in house inpatient hospital coverage and we deliver and average of 4, 500 babies a year.

Currently the department consists of:

       10 Generalist Obstetricians and Gynecologists

       1 Gynecologic Oncologist

       1 Reproductive Endocrinologist

       4 Maternal-Fetal Medicine specialists

       1 Urogynecologist

       1 Internal-Medicine Specialists

       21 Advanced Practice Providers

       16 OBGYN Residents

In addition to the nourishing and rewarding clinical atmosphere, JPS is also an urban teaching hospital with a long history of training physicians and medical students.    JPS offers 18 residency and fellowship programs.  This physician will be part of a team of providers teaching and pre-cepting residents and medical students.  

Overview

Provide services and support for women who are seeking prenatal care, childbirth services, and well-woman care at every stage of life.  In addition to clinical responsibilities, the full time OBGYN Physician will be responsible for the training of medical students and residents in both OBGYN and Family Practice, providing superior general obstetrical clinical and supervisory services. 

9 12 hours shifts per month (L/D, OR and clinic)

Qualifications:

RequiredEducation and Experience:

 
Must have a Doctor of Medicine or Doctor of Osteopathy degree from an approved college of Medicine/Osteopathy

Prior graduate academic or resident faculty experience preferred.

1-2years of direct OB/GYN experience

Required Licensures/Certification

Board eligible or board certified in specialty.
