TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT: 183 days; salary based on district salary schedule
EVALUATION: Performance of this job will be evaluated annually in accordance with provisions of the Board's policy on Evaluation of Noncertified Personnel.
1. Recognizes the components of a reimbursable meal.
2. Assists in the preparation and serving of food.
3. Adjusts recipes to the quantity required as well as adheres to recipes as provided.
4. Maintains food safety by adhering to DHEC and District sanitation guidelines at all times.
5. Maintains work area, equipment, floors and dining facilities in a clean and presentable manner.
6. Has knowledge of equipment operations and appropriate chemicals used in cleaning and
sanitizing; safely operates kitchen equipment.
7. Ensures proper storage of both hot and cold foods to minimize the risk of food borne illness.
8. Has the ability to physically perform the job responsibilities.
9. Meets state and local health requirements for food handlers.
10. Performs all other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
1. Ability to read and comprehend recipes, work assignments and in-service information.
2. Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed written and oral instructions.
3. Ability to read and follow recipes to include understanding of weights and measures and
quantity cooking.
4. Ability to lift at least 50 pounds, bend, stoop and work on feet all day.
5. Ability to work in a friendly manner with co-workers, students and faculty; as well as ability to
work at other district schools as needed.
6. Ability to operate point of service system as needed.
7. Ability to complete ServSafe Training and pass ServSafe Exam.
8. Ability to adhere to Nutrition Services Dress Code to include appropriate uniform and shoes, hair
restraint as well as stated DHEC and ServSafe guidelines and illness reporting for food related
personnel.
9. Ability to follow instructions and demonstrate flexibility with work routine as requested by
Nutrition Services Manager
